To lead effectively today you need to be able to CONSIDER what changes are coming or need to be made. The best leaders don’t react to change they anticipate it and then provide their team with the tools, support and guidance needed to navigate the change process. They are proactive rather than reactive.

In the ever-changing landscape of education, leaders need to employ a greater level of emotional intelligence than ever before. For many leaders it means creating the space and time to think strategically. Whether you are looking for ways to innovate, enhance your leadership skills, build more effective relationships, improve team performance, or change the culture across your team or school, this program offers you the tools to do it.

The Value of Thinking Strategically

For years “strategic thinking” was reserved for executive team meetings or board rooms as part of a school’s strategic planning process. However, the highly dynamic environments we operate in today plans can shift quickly as the needs of students, parents, and teachers continue to evolve.

Strategic thinking capabilities should be relied upon frequently to maintain and possibly accelerate performance against the school’s goals. Just as the captain of a large sailing vessel depends on the crew to assess and act given changing weather patterns, so too should school principals be able to depend on their leaders to explore, evaluate and decide how to make changes and keep the school on course to achieve its long-range goals.
